Tenth Song ○ [Video]

[Masato appears in the post, looking as calm as ever. Definitely not the happiest camper, but he's got a newfound determination.

...and a very eager Karrablast sitting on his shoulder who, thankfully, isn't drooling on him today.
]

...If one was to begin a journey to collect badges... Would you advise starting at Pallet Town or New Bark Town? I've done research on both, and... well, I'm actually a bit of a distance from either.

[He takes a deep breath.]

Although it's been over a year... I think it may be time for me to begin a quest of my own here. To find my meaning in this world.

...It'll at least give me something to do, wouldn't it?

[And with that, he glances away. A look of longing gently drifts onto his face, and he quietly turns the gear off. He's been thinking, long and hard about this. He's spent too much time being dependent on others. It was time to be stronger, for himself.]

[[Private to Ren Jinguji and Utau Hoshina]]

I'm sorry to have left so suddenly. Parting, however sorrowful, is sometimes necessary. At least for a short while.

I'll find you both again when I have a few badges in my collection.

Starting from New Bark Town would let you earn the badge that allows you to use Fly quickly, if that is a factor.

[It usually is, but he can hardly assume it's a fact.]

But Pallet has an inn to offer, if you wish to take your time at first.

You've waited over a year before deciding to earn badges? That's quite patient of you, and probably for the better if your stay is to be long. I earned the last badge of both regions on my first and second anniversaries, but now there's nothing left to see.

I have. You'll find that the rewards are well worth the effort, especially after you earn a region's whole set.

I work at the Department Store, I raise my younger Pokémon, I try to learn how to knit. It lacks the allure of a quest, but should my team decide to travel once more, we'll have plenty of supplies to do so.

...The Gym leaders have stronger teams to offer, if you have earned every badge in the other region. I imagine challenging the leaders in Johto once more would be possible, with Kanto's badges.

Earning all badges and defeating all Gym leaders at their best is a matter of years, and of well-trained teams that can cover each potential weakness among their members. But all that effort makes your victories sweeter in the end.

Tch, I thought you went home, too.

[He sounds a bit... relieved even if he tries to sound annoyed. Damn these sudden disappearances.]

You've clearly picked bad habits from me.
