[The gear clatters on the moment Masato gasps aloud, hand shooting out and... accidentally launching launching the gear clear across his hotel room. There's heavy breathing, along with a panicked squeak from the Deerling that had been sitting over there. She taps her nose curiously at the gear once before just crossing the room, moving over to where Masato is slowly sitting up.

Even through the darkness, his moves are rather erratic and panicked, and he just reaches over, pulling the blanket a little closer. With a sigh, he bows his head and just takes a few deep breaths. The pokémon hurries to his side, and he actually takes a good minute or two of just watching her before he gingerly reaches out to rub her ears.]

Another one... I apologize for spooking you, Sonata.

[As he leans over, he notices the blink of the gear in the corner and just sighs. Moving back from the pokémon, he climbs out of bed and approaches it, purposefully aiming it at the floor as he turns the transmission off. You saw nothing.]

[The Deerling is a mischievous one. She can read Masato well, hence why he keeps her close, but it doesn't help that she also knows when he might need a bit more comfort. He's certain he'll be fine, but Sonata just moves over to Haruka and nudges her leg, trying to urge her closer to Masato. Nope, she's certain he needs more attention.]

If you say so...

[At the nudging, Haruka takes a step. She isn't quite sure what exactly Sonata wanted, but she could tell she was still worried about her partner.]

[Oh... oh no you don't, Sonata. As Haruka moves closer, Masato quickly catches on to what she's doing and frowns.]

Sonata.

[The deerling looks up at him, not the least bit fazed, and just nudges Haruka again. Masato takes a step back, towards the tea again. Nope.]

Shall we sit?

Oh, ok. [At the second nudge, Haruka takes another step before turning slightly to look at the deerling. She smiles at her and lightly pets her head. Haruka leans down a bit to whisper in her ear.]

Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on him.

[She gives the pokémon a smile before turning back to Hijirikawa.]

[Okay, the pokémon is happy about that. As she moves back to her small cushion, she just watches as Masato glances around his room. There's... not too many places to sit, but everywhere is open. Little table on the floor with two cushions, the desk chair, the bed... your pick.]

[She settles down on one of the cushions by the small table with her tea. She contemplated the bed, but she didn't want to risk dropping any tea on it.

Taking a sip, she sighed happily.]

It's good!

[He nods, a small smile slowly playing on his lips, and just sits across from her.]

I'm glad it's to your liking.

[She liked that he was smiling a bit now. It was really worrisome. Whatever happened to Hijirikawa was pretty intense to get that sort of reaction out of him. Not to mention his pokémon was still very worried about him....oh!]

Oh! Hijirikawa-san, I have a good idea! [She smiles again, although she seems a bit nervous. She gets up and makes her way around the table.]

J-Just stay there, ok? [When she's made it around, she kneels next to Hijirikawa. She's hesitant for a moment before she nods to herself.

Hope you enjoy hugs, Masa-pyon~ Because you're popular today.]

My g-grandma used to give me h-hugs after I had a nightmare. They were like ma-magic. Um...I-I know my hug probably isn't as magical as hers, but I thought I'd give it a t-try. [Her voice is small and she's still hugging him the entire time. She sounds shy and rushes through her explanation.]

[The moment Haruka came closer, Masato already had a feeling that something very new and different was about to happen, but he just watches her carefully as she comes closer and kneels next to him--

But when she hugs him, his brain just shuts down. She's hugging him--why is he being hugged?! Completely frozen, he doesn't respond just yet... He doesn't push her away, but it takes him a few good moments before it clicks in his mind that this is still happening and it is very, very real. But... he understands the sentiment. And it feels like there's some sort of magic at work that has been placing him in the arms of females but... he can't fight it off.]

...Thank you.

[She lets him go and shuffles away awkwardly, her face is very obviously red and she's looking down at her hands which are now on her lap.]

U-Umm...wh-what are friends for, r-right?

[With a shy smile, he looks away, equally red in the face.]

...mm. I'm... really appreciative to have you as a friend.
