[Unhappy Masato is unhappy. Then again, so would you be if you have someone over here telling you to be evil. He's frowning with displeasure at the gear, the look in his eyes pretty much showing that he wants to say something but is refraining from it.]

...So I've... been told I'm here until further notice.

[His frown deepens.] I'm... quite suspicious that this may be the work of Principal Saotome, but even he does not seem to be capable of such a... ridiculous scheme.

Actually, I stand corrected. While he does seem quite capable of a kidnapping and organization plot, he doesn't strike me as one who is capable of creating these... creatures.

[And with that, he turns his gear to the little Karrablast sitting on the floor. It's currently holding a black cap, gnawing on the brim every once in a while. He turns the gear back to himself.]

It's... Am I truly responsible for this during my stay here? Hopefully it's brief. If anyone has any further information regarding this place, it would be most appreciated.

[Ren could have sat down and relaxed all he wanted since it was his room, but instead he stood against a wall not relaxed at all.

Once both of them were in the room and the door was closed he looked at Hijirikawa. He lowered his voice so that it wouldn't be too loud, but so that Hijirikawa could still hear him without needing to get closer.]

I've been waiting for a good timing to get Haruka out of the team.

[Nothing but tension in this room, so thick one could cut it with a knife. He just watches Jinguji, though he's rather surprised by the statement. Haruka... So he's actually been worried for her.]

It's not easy to just quit, is it?

If it would be, she'd be out already.

[Actually, it was pretty easy. You just needed to take the microchip away from Haruka's Pokémon. It was what happened after that worried him and that's why he's been waiting for Kurusu and Shinomiya to arrive. So they could take her away and protect her.

Though now there was Hijirikawa. While Ren was confident that the guy would be able to survive in the team, somehow, he wasn't sure if he wanted Hijirikawa to be there. Especially since Ren had no intention of leaving just yet.]

Shinomiya and Kurusu don't know about us. It's better if they don't - who knows what they might do if they did.

[He frowns. Well, if Jinguji had been there for six months and had trouble escaping or helping Haruka out, Hijirikawa had a feeling it'd be difficult for him as well. But he frowns when he hears of the secrecy, looking towards the ground. So they're pretty much in a bind.]

Kurusu said they were both headed here. Are we going to be able to hide it if we meet up with them? Perhaps... Perhaps they can assist in getting Haruka out of here.

I can always say that I offered you a lift here from New Bark Town. I can use the move called "Fly", after all. That way it can seem like you arrived to this world normally and there won't be too much suspicion... well apart from not going to pick them up, which can be explained somehow.

[On the second part he nods.]

I have been thinking of using them to get her out. They can look after her and keep her safe... well, at least if they set their mind to "It's for Haruka".

That's absurd. Kurusu and Shinomiya aren't going to believe that for a second.

[Thankfully he was new enough that he figured they could make up anything, but what were all these cities they were talking about? Half of this talk of moves and that city name were just going over his head, but he just listened, deciding to save these unnecessary questions for later when he had more time to think on it.]

How exactly are they going to help get her out? Just... taking her from here and hiding her from these... administrators? If that's the case, why don't all of us leave?

[Ren sighs, but he'll leave it for now. They'd figure out something.

Or they could just say Hijirikawa was a criminal - that would be strangely amusing.]

It's better if someone stays behind to watch out for Team Rocket on this side. Since I've been here the longest, it's better if I do... but you can leave with them, if you'd like. [It would most likely be better that way.] There are also the microchips we need to worry about...

[He narrows his eyes again. Gosh, give him a break, he just got here! With a defeated sigh, just looks back up, but his eyebrow raises at that last remark.]

Microchips? Explain that.

[Well it almost feels like he's been here for ages. Ren's lost so much of his lifetime already with Hijirikawa today.

Though yes, he shall explain.]

Everyone in Team Rocket has a Pokémon with a microchip implanted on them. I'm quite sure it's not there just for fun and games, but to track our movements... of course I have no solid proof of that, but why else go through such a thing?

It also seems to affect the Pokémons personality somehow. That or my starter is violent naturally.

[Masato pales at that. Being tracked is just definitely not comfortable to think about.] I wouldn't be surprised if it was to track us...

So that's why you said it would be harder to leave... I'm assuming removing the microchips is impossible, or close to it.

It can only be done by the ones who did it or by the nurses at the Pokémon center, I'd think. Though if the nurses find out about it, it's immediately a police business.

[That brings him to his thoughts on the situation.]

Which is why Haruka should not be the one requesting the microchip to be moved. Someone else needs to do it. She doesn't need to suffer over nothing.

[Ren has at least done something jail-worthy, which might show as small guilt on his face.]

Ah... So the police would know from removing it that they're here. [He frowned more at that. Haruka definitely didn't need to be the one requesting them to be removed. But...]

How bad is it dealing with the police? Perhaps I could--my record is clear. They wouldn't be as suspecting.

They send you to jail for just skipping work here. They wouldn't think twice if they heard you're in Team Rocket.

[Do you want to go to jail Hijirikawa? Most likely not. Neither does Ren and he has no intention of going there.]

[He frowns a bit more. Why are they in this organization, again?]

Are you certain? It may be easier on me, since I have no idea what this is. I could feign confusion better. [Except at the moment, he wasn't feigning it.]

They won't care if you're confused or not. You're a Team Rocket member - you're a criminal in their eyes even if you wouldn't have done anything.

[The police in this place - they were really hot, but also very stupid.]

Do you want to go to jail for doing nothing, Hijirikawa?

[He looks away sharply. Going to jail over nothing... He'd rather not go to jail at all, but there are very few circumstances.]

Of course not, but I'd rather do something than sit here idly and let them cart you off. And knowing you, you've probably got a track record already. [He did mean that last one as a teasing insult, but secretly he's hoping it isn't true. YOU'VE BEEN AS GOOD AS POSSIBLE IN THIS PLACE, RIGHT, JINGUJI?]

[Rens first reaction is to declare "Who said I would be carted off", but that would just... make this conversation worse, wouldn't it? Hijirikawa would never approve of a plan "I will hide from police until a better notice afterwards".

Though there were a lot of other things Hijirikawa wouldn't approve of. One of them which he just said, even if he knew it was intended as a Hijirikawa-ish joke.

He smiles, even if it's not a happy one.]

They would only charge me for being a Team Rocket member as they wouldn't know what else I've done.

[Thank goodness Jinguji didn't answer that oddly. Proves it was just a joke in Masato's mind, which is A-okay by him. But he just sighs and shakes his head.]

That's relieving... But how long are the sentences?

[What Hijirikawa doesn't know doesn't hurt him -- or something like that. There were several things that he didn't need to know - like his good relations to some of the Team Rocket members or that he's stolen a few Pokémon. Especially since he couldn't really explain why he did. Not right now.]

Not too long. A week or two, to say at least.

[Which wasn't really an awful time to be arrested in a jail... but did he want that to happen still? No.]

A time like that would be too harsh on a girl like Haruka. She mustn't experience that.

[But his voice trails off and he finds himself looking away. There's really no other way around this, is there?]

As long as she is away from Goldenrod by the time someone else gets the chip out, there's no harm in it for her.

[Damn future sight. Always belatedly ruining our fun.]

But if she's out of the city, how are you going to return her pokémon? Or were you just going to keep them in the hospital's care until she returned to get them?

Something like that, yes. I will return the Pokémon eventually, so she wouldn't need to worry about that at all.

Ah. [He's not really sure he trusts that plan, but... he can't think of anything else about it. Looking back at the floor, he just starts reflecting on this situation. Give him a few moments to think this through.]

[Well, Ren doesn't have anything to say right now so he's just standing there for the moment.]
